Springfield Smith & Wesson Industrial Park is an 85 acre planned industrial park located in the northwest section of Springfield. The site was formerly owned by Smith & Wesson, which still maintains their headquarters adjacent to the site. In 2003 the 85 acre site was purchased by the Springfield Redevelopment Authority whose mission was to construct the necessary infrastructure to provide industrial opportunities for employers looking for quality sites. The site is very well located on Roosevelt Avenue, adjacent with visibility to
Interstate 291.
In 2006, Performance Food Group purchased 35 acres leaving approximately 50 acres ready for immediate development. The site is located within an economic target area thus providing the opportunity for tax incentive packages for employers bringing new job creation to the City of Springfield.
